Shrinking with Age

As years roll on fewer examples of anything exist.

In 2011 I used Goobike.com/bike to measure what was for sale in Japan.
Ok its winter there in the N.Hemisphere, a good time for bikes to be on the market?
I had also done this only one or two few years previous to that where there were 400+ NSR, 200+ TZR etc
The numbers present bikes at shop dealers and not private sales

(Mar 2011)
RZV500 = 9 bikes
NS400R = 18
RG400 = 11
RZ350 = 11

NSR250 = 231
TZR250 = 106
RGV250 = 58
RS250 = 33
KR-1 = 10
KR-1S = 1 bike - rare at any time in Japan

doing the same search today
(2019)
RZV500 = 15 bikes
NS400R = 0 ! have been a popular export in last 10years being a cheaper option than RG500, and H0NDA usually more collectible/investments
RG500 = 6
RG400 = 4
RZ350 = 9

NSR250 = 87
TZR250 = 62
RGV250 = 20
RS250 = 12
KR-1 = 4

That’s interesting so no kr1s! In Japan and you don’t see much here either for sale not good ones anyway

Interesting reading!

Kinda shows that people are holding on to them , to ride or admire, and not so many making it to the market.

I know Fastline and others are selling bikes such as the NSR250s, which they imported in good quantity's into the UK not so many years ago, back to collectors in Japan now.

Yes, hardly any S-models crop up on Yahoo either. I usually skim through the listings once every couple of weeks but would only see a KR-1S advertised 2 or 3 times a year. A KR-1 might appear every month or two (not counting the highly-priced ones that have been sitting there for ages!), but it seems that both types are not too common.

Could it be that the number of S-models sold in Japan was only slightly greater than the number of R-models...?? :shock:
