Re: my kr1s c3 started from here
I have seen loads of the Forum members bikes during my trips for work (all around the UK).
Steelys (Tony Steel's ) bike is an exceptional bike, hat's off to Tony, his attention to detail and patience is unreal.
When I first visited him and saw his bike in the flesh, I was completely blown away.
When John mentioned to me that Tonys bike had been featured as the editor's best buy, I told John that it was a " one off" and did he want Tonys number.
The rest is history.
Cheers
Bernie

You got your work cut out Bernie and not forgetting the bad repairs
So some time later

Marked up for cutting and joint rebaiting
Joints cut
Clamped in place and inspection panel fit checked
Detail inside left hand side
Detail finishing
almost
nearly pro at work looking spot on mate note the extra repairs ie: indicator ect and the detail with the edges were the inspection cover sits

Hi John,
That was one of the worst bodged repairs I have ever seen, a bit of 1mm steel riveted in place and the rest made up with body filler.
Can't wait to see the rest of the photos
Cheers,
Bernie

Re: my kr1s c3 started from here
Hi Dan,
Yes, all my own work, fabricating the missing parts and repairing all the existing bodged repairs. All the old crap was removed as it had been welded with the paint still on the surface (contaminating the joints). I used new ABS so that the plasticisers that had leeched out due to age, were replenished resulting in a stronger and more flexible joint.
If you want a good finish, there is no point rushing.
My OCD wouldn't allow me to "just do a quick job", it has to look correct on the inside as well as the outside.
Cheers
Bernie

That is one stunning piece of repair work on the fairing!
