spent all day in the garage today with the new toy....an aprillia rs125 track bike...

i know but it was very very cheap...

it has no spark... when making the ignition i get 12v into the cdi but then get 70v at the coil.....
this degrades slowly unless the starter is pressed and then rises sharply again..
what voltage is usually sent to the coil? (think its around 2-350v) and is it usually sent initially?

i have changed the regulater and cdi !!
pick up coil resistance is ok coil... is just outside limits but i have had worse results from coils that run ok...

will get another coil anyway...

bloody hate electrics...

anyone?

only 12V is sent to the coil. it's the coil that turns that 12V into very high voltages that can produce a spark in the plug.
