KIPS motor stutter

After taking the KR out for a good run yesterday, I noticed that when I hit the kill switch (leaving the ignition on) the KIPS motor was stuttering. Turned the ignition off then back on again and it went through it's normal startup cycle but didn't stutter again. I'd heard it earlier also when I stopped for feul, but I didn't really register what it was at that time.
Anyone else ever had this?
I'm hopeing it's just the KIPS motor itself and not the CDI sending it scewed up signals. Thinking about it though, it could be a bad connection so I'll go check the terminals first before I start swaping anything out.

Try slackening your cables, one of mine was a bit tight and caused this when the motor could not return to the closed position properly.

i have just noticed my kips motor is buzzing but will not go thrugh the motoins when ignition is turned on. would this cause my bottom end power to be flat under 4000rpm?

It could be the issue if the valves are stuck in the open position, mind you these being 2 strokes, they don't have much power at low revs anyways. Check to see if your KIPS cables are too tight (they need a small bit of slack), and that the valves will turn by hand if you disconnect the cables.

Ihave checked the valves and they move freely when disconnected from the kips motor.
could it be that my battery has gone dead and theres not enough power to turn the kips motor?

Easy way to see if it's your battery is to grab some jumper cables and hook up your car battery to the bike. If when you turn on the ignition the KIPS motor still just buzz's then it's not the battery, in which case you may need to replace the KIPS motor, or pull it down and see if you can sort the issue yourself.
Good luck.

What rev-range do the kips come in? is it below 4000rpm or above?
just seems like my bike does not want to go at-all. ](*,)

hi charles, could a miss-firing cylinder make my bike sluggish? @ around 2000rpm, i try to take off but it bogs. if i rev it over 4000, it pulls away slowly then shoots off. ](*,) #-o

So have you changed plugs/battery once again? With what results?
