but he should have doen something with the "unfilled" space under tank/seat on the sides

But I also have a clear(?) one that I'm fitting. Was the black tank just on the Kr1 possibly?

Absolutely love it! Reminds me of my naked Tandem Twin actually, so perhaps that has made me a bit biased. 
This really is giving me bad ideas though. I can see myself goin out to the shed and taking to one of my KR1's and raiding the headlight and dash from my Tandem (been thinking bout re-fitting it's old fairing and selling it lately
) and doing something similar. Thinking a different seat unit and perhaps a rear hugger would be on the cards though.
It almost feels like MJ posted this just to torment me.

i bought my kr-1 brand new in august 1989 and it has always had a clear oil tank, saw a few for sale on e-bay and they were clear as well, maybe it's the s model that is black

I've got a black one on my Red/White KR1, the others I have mostly have clear ones. I think it may have been the B1 series (like mine) that came with the black tank, and the B2 onwards got clear ones.pookie wrote:Howie wrote:My one has.
