Hi guys, been along time since I've been on here - moved twice and got married blah blah blah.
I've got a garage again so my thoughts are turning smokey again
Can anyone recomend a decent company in the south east for a full rebuild please?
Just looking into it for now but won't be long till the ole' gal's on the road again.

Stan Stevens is based in the south east and he was the man to go to once upon a time.

Not sure what he's like now though and have not exerienced his work of recent years to be able to comment.

Perhaps some other members can put my doubts to rest.

I wouldn't use Stan. Several members had trouble with the work he did for them.

An example:

I'd go to Graham File, never heard of any problems with him.

Bob Farnham is also in Kent (not far from Brands Hatch).

Has a dyno and has always been known as a bit of a two stroke guru too.

Thanks guys, appreciate the pionters. It won't be a quick project but I'll keep you informed.
Has anyone had any dealings with SEP in kegworth, inbetween Leicester, Notts and derby?

I have heard that sep are good at their job , but dont do crank rebuilds. i found that bob farnham was too pricey and stan i have been hearing bad things for the last 10 or more years so would not go to HIM. i went see graham file , didnt want to trust the post man so went up and deliverd my engine personally to graham was much very impressed with the info and his set up, short of doing the porting work my self then graham would be my only choice, if you have heard of piston broke , he is good for crank rebuilds but very long winded, mine sat their for a year and he still had not got round to it, if your willing to source your work then their lots of small engineering companies that can do the work just as good as graham
if you are in essex then you have a mulitude of companies local, their used to be a good engineer in colliers row not far from tube st. whites in dalston, someone in goodmayes and the rest i have forgot. their is also a company here in southwest that is spot on for nicolsil, usa company based in weston supermare.

Mmm... I wish somebody had told me SEP didn't rebuild cranks. I wonder who they got to do the 6 they have done for me

Me thinks, no me knows that they do cranks :D

A full re-build comes in about £300 with new everything.
