Hi Folks. A question for those of you who transplanted zxr400h front end on their kr1/s.
Been searching the forum, but cant find the answer to this one.
What's recommended as the forks now stop against the instrument bracket and dont make it to the stop lug on the frame!

Yup, same issue here.
You can (if you want) heat up the fairing bracket in the region of the fork and 'gently persuade it to be flat'....
If you do not do this and modify the lock stops then you end up with bugger all lock.
Once you have done this though, the limit is the head light adjuster on the left of the headlight unit (on right lock). I set my adjustable lock stop to stop before this (Adjustable lock stop equates to drilling the stop and putting in a screw with a lock nut.....

Thanks guys. I will get to that after another 'needed' error. The problem with obtaining stuff evil bay is which and what model is it supposed to be off!
I believe I have a zxr400h yokes, forks. But the wheel not sure. zxr400 yes, but I dont know if they differ.
I thought I had done all my home work, Mr Red Devil did the donkey work, but Need to try harder springs to mind.
Below is the fitting of wheel into forks viewed from front. At present I have no speedo purchased yet. But R/H outside of disc to leg is 13mm with the correct 25.? spacer installed.
And on L/H outside of disc to leg is 8mm
Distance of discs across the hub is 136mm outside face of disc to outside face of disc.
So the question is do I have the wrong wheel. If so can I make it fit with the speedo/disc calipers clearance.
Cheers Buz

speedo drive part numbers are the same for H and L, so go ahead and buy one.
I believed wheels are the same, but apparently they are not. for example : the spacer between the bearrings has a different number.
just buy a speedo-drive, and than check allignment and make the correct spacers.

And it doesn't work. The epoxy putty isn't strong enoughBikemike wrote:I found this problem as well.
I've bodged mine with some epoxy putty
It works, but ain't pretty.

So, as suggested above, I did this:-
Drilled and tapped the lockstops, adjusted for clearance and loctited in place.
Works a treat
(And yes, I did clean up the swarf afterwards)

Need Break down cover? P.m. me.

Hummmm. Looks like I might have to do the same then. What size thread did you use M4?
I went for the a 'Hybrid adhesive' approach. A strip of mild steel with two taper pieces silver soldered as below. The whole bit 'corsets' the original frame stop.
If its doesn't hold I will have to drill the stops.
I used some epoxy to fill in the gaps
