exhaust mount bottom bracket

I'm approaching the point where I'll be mounting the exhausts and I still hav'nt solved the problem of the bottom mounting bracket.

When I stripped the bike, the bottom mounting bracket fell apart. Both anti vibration rubbers fell out of the steel frame. One is OK'ish and might go back in the other was a write off.

At the time I found out they were NLA and could'nt find a used one.So I decided to repaint the carrier and fit it as I rebuilt the rolling chassis.Thinking that the bushes would be a standard size and available from a bush manufacturer and I could replace the bushes at a later date.

Only I can't find them anywhere inspite of some intensive searching.

Anyone else solved this problem.

My rubber bush fell out too, looked about the same size as an LC engine mount or tie bar, will have a measure up tomorrow if it warms up a bit?

I was thinking of just cutting a fat piece of rubber and using that, we use thick belting at work.

I had the same problem. This is going back in the depth of memory but IIRC RS sells rubber compound and it was a simple job mixing it up and making a new rubber between the original steel inner and outer.

Elf thanks for that but that rubber compound is a bit expensive in'it

I still hav'nt ruled out making my own :-k but in the meantime.

I emailed a company that do this sort of thing and they said, they could make two for £15 each but the cost would drop significantly for 10.I don't know how significantly but before I get back to them I was wondering if there where another five or more interested parties.

Might be interested, but not at £15ea, do you have the measurements, have you tried a motor factors etc? I've done nothing with mine, as I'm still taking it apart. Got to be an old car bush that will fit?
Will have a look later and get some sizes if you don't know them, (8 or 10mm bore??)

yep £15 is steep, but I have tried everywhere. They just don't seem to have another application.

This is the bush if anyone else can turn a couple up I'd be grateful.Rough I know but you get the picture.

KR1 Man calling, yes please, count me in for a pair. I have the same problem with my exhaust mount bracket, both bushes are in the same state. Have managed to refit them, but how long they would stay in, I'm unable to say as the KR2 still has a long way to go before reaching that stage. I anyone finds a source or is planning to get some made up then I'll definitley have a pair. Best regards, KR1 Man

That looks a good replacement, wonder how much they are, just a small spacer or a few washers required for the loss in depth. :)
