noisey at idle, quiet up the rev range?

Hi all,
I wonder if i could pick your brains.....?
Ive recently put my kr-1 back together following an engine rebuild that i did which involved new pistons and rings, one new barrell and the crankshaft main bearings and oil seals being replaced. Was mightily impressed when she fired up after a mere half dozen kicks and ran really rather sweetly as best as i can tell(i freely admit to being no expert of course!)Now ive noticed something that troubles me somewhat. The engine is running sweet with the idle speed set and steady as a rock, all the gears engeage and disengage sweetly and the clutch likewise(again, thats as best i can tell,i cant as yet try it on the road)but ive noticed that at idle,it sounds mechanically quite noisey but this noise dissappears when the revs get above about 3000. Is this normal for a kr-1,or should i be concerned that somethings not quite right with the ol' girl?
Any suggestions or comments would be much appreciated folks
Cheers,Rob
