Hi all havent been on here for a while but I thought i'd let you know about this brake company that supplied the discs for my & my daugters race bike's this year http://blackshadow-uk.com/default.aspx we have used them for half the season now & they have been fantastic. they are about half the price of the originals are very light & they are made in the UK =D> . If you need a set give them a ring & ask to speak to Pete, could you also mention that I "Gary Jarman" gave you his no as he's been very helpfull to us this year.
Hope everyone is doing well
Gary

Been in contact with them. I must say Peter Roberts was very helpful but unfortunately they don't do discs for the KR-1.
I am now running KR-1 discs as they are almost 500g lighter each than the KR-1S discs. Probably about 750g lighter than ZXR400 discs. That is 1kG less not to be sniffed at.
Why? reduced unsprung weight, less gyroscopic force as they are lighter and smaller diameter - 280mm versus the KR-1S at 300mm and ZXR400 at 310mm.
Mass is bad, rotating mass is double bad
