There's still a chance my 3MA will be there, I hope.

Dreading the noise test on that - the clutch alone makes 153dB. ](*,)

Hi guys,

Just a quick question, will 14 front and 45 rear sprockets plus a low revving kr be too short for cadwell?

I've got a 42 rear that i bought off ben that i can stick on, just thought i'd ask before i get there.

I've also got a 15 front too so i've got a couple of combos lol.

I'm obviously not going for any lap records or anything daft

14/45 is just right with an 18" rear, but I understand your bike isn't reving as high as it should, so you might have to go a bit longer Dan.

You could try getting MJ to post you those stuffers in time and jet down a bit. It should help you get more out of the motor and you won't have to alter your gearing.

Cheers Ben!

The stuffers arrived today so cheers for that MJ!

Will pop them in, and see what it runs like then and do a few plug chops thursday night.

Ahh cool, leave the gearing as it is then, you should find it revs higher

From memory I think I ran 15/44 on a stock box albeit with a 17" rear with a 160 tyre fitted.

I think the rolling radius of a 140 x 18" is about the same as the 160 x 17" as the 160 has a higher profile.

Gearing will depend on your corner speed - if you don't carry it you will need lower gearing. Start with 14/44 but don't over rev your motor. Looking at the dyno curve there is probably no point in going past 11,000 on the tacho (they usually read high). Revving it just drops engine life :(

Hi MJ,

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah I think my rev counter reads particularly high, I will set a rev limiter at 10000 on the zeel and see how much the tacho over reads by tomorrow night.

Thanks again

I was running a 15/43 last weekend with stock 1S transmission and 160/17" and being honest, it was slightly on the long side, but it was nice not having my bike screaming its knackers off at the end of the park straight.

Everyone's bike is going to differ and as Mark says, your corner speed round charlies 2 and barn dictate your gearing and taking into account the weather this week, I would stick by 14/45 Dan.

Some hope.

About to put the wife's SDR in the van to use instead, but bearing in mind the way this week's gone so far, I'm not really fussed about riding anything at all to be honest. But I'll be there to take some pics and chat anyway. Hope everyone has a great time. :D
