Stripped the bike down this afternoon, found afew little horror's of the home mechanic but nothing that can't be fixed.

It should be finished by xmas, as i want to pay my house off this year so have to prioritize, so i am giving myself pocket money!

I have to have some dogie welding sorted on the two brackets on the headstock first, then i can start bolting bits back on slowly but surely.

Ive already stripped and cleaned the clocks and powder coated the mounting plate and brackets, with all new nut's & bolt's.

Nice progress.

Just a word of caution, before you get the frame painted check there are no cracks around the bottom engine mount as a number of people have found problems there.

One my next 4 day's off work i will steam clean the frame and give it a good look over.

Because i always paint my garage out, make's a nice place to work, and i have now rented my house with the garage out, and moved into my new house but i am not having my garage built until summer.

I even have a leather sofa, coffee table, stereo , sky tv in my old garage and will be doing the same with my new garage! Why, COS I CAN!!!

That and im a clean freak!!

Thats a job for me this summer painting the garage.

LOL, i had to get it stripped to see what i was up against, now work will slow down.

I have to admit i have done lot's of superbike and muscle bike rebuild's and there isn't alot to these little bike's, they can be stripped to the frame in 5hrs and and i would say be rebuilt correctly in 2 day's once everything has been chromed, powder coated, painted etc, that doesn't inc an engine rebuild though.

I really like this bike as i always wanted one as a teenager but could never afford one.

Good man =D> I had a sofa but It had to go to get another bike in and I've got itunes on the old computer, but Sky TV. How do ya get any work done?

Funny isnt it - if im working for someone else I would get stuck in and have the bike stripped and rebuilt in three days.....

.....but for myself, im lucky if i get it done in three months

For now until i get my garage built ive got the outhouse, 8x8 shed and the conservatory!

i live in a flat but still have a loft with a stereo, scalextric, and even a rear leather bench seat from a jag xj6 to sit in (a' la top gear) i call it my escape pod
