9005RPM , S KR1S RESTORATION
heres a picture of [forum member 9005rpm] kr1s.
some of you will remember he came on here asking about getting his
kr1s restored,
well as you can see from the picture, he has trusted me with the job
the bike is in very good condition [all bodywork is good, so he has that
tucked away in the garage], the bike itself is in very good condition,
[only done 6000 miles], but he wants it totally stripped and fully sorted.
he wants all new parts [where needed] engine stripped and aqua blasted.
i will put more pictures up as i progress with this restoration

its before jan
it looks good in the photo, and it is good,
but its been standing and needs alot of bits done,
forks need stripping [seals are leaking]
brakes need stripping [new seal kit]
rear shock is being sent away for strip and rebuild [heard good things
about firefox racing so will give them a call.
tyres are both shot, needs new bridgestones,
engine needs a full strip [as when you look close, its been apart
before, as its got non oe base gaskets on it.
so on stripping, what else will there be!
he just wants a fully sorted kr1s.

Totally agree with you there Waynetescr500 wrote:well Martin going by your bike there's no one better trust with the Job than you, look forward to seeing all the progress cheers Wayne.
Saw Martin's KR1 at Stafford Show last year and it was amazing. I would definitely trust him with one of my bikes - he is as fussy as me !
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

Hi all,
That's my bike and I know that Martin will do a good job for me.
I used to proddie race KRs back in the early 90s and for ages have wanted to get a sorted bike together.
Plan is pretty much as Martin describes. There is an argument that a bike is best kept original, but as Martin says it has been apart before and has also been on a track at some point. That probably explains why the plasticsvare so good.
Anyway, we'll see what Martin finds when he pulls the engine apart. I'm very happy to share the journey on here and to read your comments.
Cheers,
Mark.

heres the first picture so far.
the carbs have been fully stripped/cleaned/adjusted correctly with float
heights correct at 19mm plus new pilot and main jets.
will get the engine back from nos exup [cc aqua blasting]next week, so
can then upload pictures of the engine rebuild
