I'm planning on doing the Bemsee meeting in July, and I have a question about transponders.
Bemsee say that you have to use a transx 260 AMB. Does each competitor have to have this exact model are are there other compatible models that do the same job?
As I'm planning on only doing maybe 2 meetings this year, would any of the racers be willing to 'lend' me their transponder if they are not using it over this weekend?

Hi Tricia,
They have to be that exact model (Tranx 260) of transponder I'm afriad.
Derby Phoenix hire them if you don't have one of your own. Cost at about £20 for the weekend I think.
So I imagine BEMSEE do somthing similar.
I'm not sure what I'm doing just yet, but if I'm around, I'll come down to watch and you can borrow mine.
I'll let you know closer the time, but find out about hire as a back up plan.

apparaently, Bemsee hire them for £30 a day. Thanks for the offer Ben, although for you, it does seem quite far from home

Bloody hell, that's a bit steep!
My partners parents live in Crowborough, so we'll make a weekend of it down there if I can come down.

looking at the resale value of these transponders, it looks as if the best deal would be to buy one and sell it once I've finished as the better option.

I always hire one for the weekend, just dont forget to hand it back at the end,you'll lose your deposit
