Stripping Carbs

I pulled the carbs off the 'S last week, stripped them and dunk them in the ultrasonic tank, come out nice and clean, the mains still needed clean out manually.
There are some antitamper screws in the carbs and their removal would allow more dismantling. Is their any gain to be had by removing this last bit?
Carbs look good, all stndard and not been messed with. X89N or N68X needles. Bike is a C2.
I'll be putting them back togther, setting the float heights etc first and the air mix to 1/2 turn out, as seems to be recommended in a few posts. just wondering on the additional stripping really!
also picked up a Penske shock which I'm going to try and fit.. .

It is worth getting hold of the anti tamper torx tool (available from any tool supplier) as under there is where the gunk seems to accumulate.
The needles will be N68x, if you can find some 99 needles from a c3 they are marginally better, but you seem to be doing everything right so far.

Thanks Mike,
I'm sure I have an anti-tamper screw bit somewhere, so i'll dig it out and get the parts out.
Shock arrived, just need to figure out what the thread is on the bottom of the shock, looks to be 11/16" maybe, will then need a clevis arrangement instead of the eye that came with it. Should be able to get a length as low as 280mm, (std is 275), and maybe a different spring rate.
best start a project thread i guess.. . . .

I took the additional parts out the carbs tonight, they're really clean underneath with exception that there was some kind of sealant blocking one of the holes, could have been there since new!
Anyway I'll assemble them all when i get chance. Need to get the old shock off and try and figure out how this penske will fit, reservoir is on a very short hose, but will probably mount below the battery, I think there's room.
