Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
you sure the spannies are going to fit the bellypan - I had problems with the JL's grounding out and lifting the back causing it to step out

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
I'm not using Jim Lomas pipes partly for that reason, they're too big. Other reason is they are "off the shelf" pipes and not always best suited to the specific engine tune/setup.

Got a couple of these kits from Venhills and made up my own throttle cables.

Coming together pal! It's a year on tuesday since my 3xv spat a ring out. Pulling my finger out to get it up and running again.
Would have come to cadwell this weekend but can't make it Are you racing the aprilia?

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
I'm just racing the transit this weekend, seeing how many fu*ked bikes I can collect and get off the track in record breaking time!
I've opted not to race this year, so I could put all my spare time into this. If I was racing as well, I would be fiddling with whatever in between races, taking me away from completing this.

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
My radiator is now finished and ready thanks to Aaron Radiator. Need to work out the mounting points for it next and get it on the bike.

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
Hi Ben,
That is a nice bit of kit
How are you going to mount the rad ? (I can't see any lugs)
Do you intend to pinch it against a fixed bracket or have a locating slot/clamp in the brackets?
Cheers,
Bernie

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
I requested for no mounting points be put on the rad, as they would not have been correct. I need to get it in position and in situ with the bike and work out where the mountings need to be located, then weld them on.

Yes, I'm running a thermostat and by-pass hose off a KTM, which is set at 55ºC. This picture shows the temperatures in fahrenheit, so don't let that fool you , like it did me at first.

Re: Final KR Based Race Bike Project
I would say it's adequate enough to keep the engine temperatures happy around 56°
In my experience, I've struggled to get my previous bike much below 64°
Anything much above my target temperature, you're loosing horse power. Certainly worth more gain from the weight 400ml of extra water weighs in net hp. I could also go on a diet myself (too many pies)!!!
