Thanks for the thumbs up....
Stickers are cool I think... I masked up around some of them and the big Kawasaki ones I will stick back on when I have the bottle...
Might leave the yellow one at the back off for the time being and see how it goes...
As for the spraying, my uncle has a spray shop... so it was almost a proper job except I did all the rubbing down and prep work!!!
Paint was 2 pack (i.e. with a acid based hardener so it goes rock hard), sprayed the black first, then masked up to the line...
Its easy to see the line cos when the black is slapped on, it shows off where the step in the paint work is from the original finish (run a finger nail over the two colours...)
Once there back on the bike, I can give it a mop and finish it all off, but at the mo, cos there off the bike, there too flimsy to put the mopp on them
Hope this explains / helps a little [-o<

ahhh, in that case you wont have the existing lines to mask too....
If you want green and black, I can sketch and measure where the lines go for you.... On the side panels and belly pan, the lines are straight... so not too tricky....
However, you will have to flat back the lines where the paint comes to... otherwise it will stand out like the proverbial sore thumb!!!

ok It is starting to look a bit more like a motorbike now...
Been in the garage for 2 days fitting the f'ing rear indicators... Studs sheared off when I took them off (all those months ago)...
So, I thought... Drill em out, tap a M6 thread... How difficult can it be... Yeah right... Did one, then got a new bolt jammed... so hacksawed it off.. Tapped it again... Sheared off the f'ing tap...
Bought new tap... finally success... B@stard'ing thing
Anyway... As you can see... shiny nuts and bolts... Rear shock has been sorted and the new shiny brake and shock hoses from Goodridge all round ...
About to go and buy new battery for it (as the old one is f*cked) and then try and start her!!! Wish me luck all... I just need to remember to
Slightly closer one
a) fill the radiator,
b) make the pre mix up (as i havent bled the oil lines),
c) check the powervalves,
d) pray the carb setup is ok
e) bolt the end cans on
f) bleed the brakes
g) put the chain on
h) trouble shoot the wiring (probably)
i) etc...
Cheers all

Wooohoooo....
How chuffed am I.... She's a runner again!!!
After the misery of last week, today it just all fell into place... End cans on, coolant filled, petrol tank on...
I guess I was risking fate just trying to kick it over... but after a few attempts, my wee beastie coughed a bit, spluttered a little, then fell into a nice even tickover.... Anyway, couldn't resist making a video for prosperity and all so....
Ahhh the dulcet tones of a 2 Stroke...
Cheers gang.... more pics soon with her clothes back on
Nate
P.S. Don't ask why i videoed the indicator...

Looking good now, not too far to go.
Nah, got to agree with you Garry, they do look good naked Pretty certain my next one's only going to have a half fairing and a very clean engine (Aqua blasted or finished black) plus some very shiney JL stainless pipes-hmmm more expense!Garry wrote:is it just me or do KR's look better without the bodywork?
nice job
