As seen in my thread over here, my KR250A runs, but it runs very badly.
Here it is running:

Here is what I would like it to run more like (this bike is not mine):

Can anyone in Australia recommend a workshop/mechanic/backyard enthusiast preferably in NSW/VIC who knows more than the average about tandem twins and might want to take on making this engine run better?
Once it runs properly then I can do most other things myself (making things pretty, replacing chain and sprockets, brakes, suspension, tyres etc.) but I don't want to throw away any unnecessary funds on something that doesn't run.
Any help would be great.
Even if you are a bit of a DIY demon if you are confident I would be willing to discuss options.
Cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony, you could try Deet at RGV Spares in Melbourne. He rebuilt my RZ350 engine a few years back and was awesome to deal with, very knowledgable on two strokes and good value. Yes he's Suzuki biased and I can't say for sure whether he knows much about KR's or can take on your work but might be worth making contact. He works on bikes from his home workshop.

I remember that video from when you first posted it. Unfortunately, I don't know of any mechanics that know these bikes well, so I worked on mine myself (with varying degrees of success )
What have you tried on it so far to get it running right. Definately sounds like it's only running on 1 cylinder (which has sometimes been atributed to the crank dampers not being adjusted, but that's the last thing youd want to try as its a pita).
Have you checked for spark? (could be faulty CDI, coil, lead or plug, or even a badly adjusted pickup coil air gap).
Does it have good even compression on both cyls?
Is it getting fuel to that cyl? (carb could be clogged up, bad inline filter...)

If it's any consolation, it doesn't start like that every time. Far from it. I've been known to sit there kicking it for 10 minutes with no success.
Once it's actually running on two, it's fine though.

running on 1
always start with the ignition system, have you got a spark? if so then give the non firing cylinder a sqirt of carb cleaner down the carb, does it fire up? then its a fuel prob.
