KR1S Forks question

Had some forks come in the post today (don't worry i had ordered them

)
They look the like the ones but have an air valve on the top of the forks.

is this standard or is it a modification?
if it is a mod can they be converted back to standard

Oh and also do the KR1 top half of the forks fit the later KR1S ?

my kr1s forks have the preload adjusters i think

sound like there not correct ...airscrew maybe lc2 ypvs uns

They are at my mom's house so i can't do a pic at the mo.
They look exactly like the KR1S forks but it's just the air valves.

There is a little metal cap on top of the fork and that unscrews to reveal the valve

This is the only pic i can get at the moment

if the kr1s brakes i sold you fit the forks then its all good martin

Can i convert the airvalves to normal though?
Is there anyone on here who can work on the forks?

maybe someone has a damaged pair forsale which i can pull the adjusters etc off

the bottom is KR1S, but the top's ain't.

Why not fit them and see what they feel like? you never know but you may have a "better than standard" setup.

LOL well as I'm running a set of ZXR400SP with ohlins internals I don't think so

Seriously they sound like someone has spent some serious time and money improving them so they could well be worth trying as standard the forks are a bit on the crap side of useless (IMHO).

I've never had any trouble with the front forks until recently, when I put on a few ounces over the Easter Holiday

I did find them a bit soft, so I removed the springs and filled them with lead

Well i've been able to make one good set of forks outta 3 pairs

The oil level in the forks will need looking at before it's finished but looking o.k..

Those bloody air forks appeared to be consisted of springs half the length
a bit of tubing to make up the space and a couple of air valves

They bottomed out whatever the amount of air they had in them.

is that you on the minimoto m8!! how did you go about getting it road legal? seriously, were did you find that pic?

anyone spotted how everyone is looking bolt ahead, trying desperatly not to laugh/look? you can almost hear what they said as they drove off! look at his knee slider, looks like a jelly bean stuck to him!
