don't knwo what's wrong with the ignition, but she wouldn't start. thought it was me kicking her like a softy. couldn't get more then some flames out off the exhaust .... so started thinking the ignition timing is wrong. made a tool so I could spin the cranck with an electrical drill and with the stroboscope it was clear she fired too late (although set like in the manual). gave her a lot more advance and she fired up
from 30sec's on, you can see a special anti-wheely-device apparently build into the engine , didn't know off that, first time I've seen it
as always : with good news comes bad news : water leaking in the gearbox, oil leaking on the kickstart seal, and oil leaking on the outpushaft but still feeling happy

Looks like a result to me. =D> =D>
That's some pretty mad torque to pump the front forks down like that, but I doubt it'll stop you popping wheelies at a moments notice.
How long till we see a first ride on this animal.

KR1 Red/White
KR1S Track Bike (has been put on hold for now)

anyway, it was still in my shed, and sadly as of today it is RIP
too much vibration kept me from going further with it, but as long as I didn't need the money, I kept it because I must have ridden a KX500 powered bike one day.
So I bought an almost complete '88 KX500 rolling frame (appart from 3 plastics) a month ago and today took the '87 engine out of the Kr frame. Total cost of the finished KX should be well below 2000 euro, and over here the cheapest you find are +/- 4000 euro, so I get to ride "The Beast" and make a good profit. All in all not a bad deal I recon
