I agree Cliff, but why is the Space Scuttle white .........Mr bungholeo Its not a matter of where It grips it Its a matter of power weight ratio an eight ounce bird CAN'T carry a two pound coca nut. So go away or I'll give you a nasty taunting. ...........Alan

Perhaps the current climate change makes them migratory..........

or they lost their home (subprime mortgage, you know) and they had to migrate

Sorry Mate , but its you Poms that allowed a bunch of Pythons to escape from captivity
We Aussies can't help it , the sun makes us go a bit silly you see .

Back on Topic  The Black looks great on the engine . But you are going to need a set of Lomas S/S pipes to add a nice contrast to things now . And may as well sell the lower section of the fairing coz you wont want to cover that lot up 8)

The bit that gets hot on re-entry is black, the top is white to reflect harmful solar radiation or something

yup... Definatley the migratory swallow!

On a less serious note...

Black has the ability to soak up heat quickly, but also disipate it quickly... White is more reflective and therefore less able to soak it up and less able to disipate it...

So, assuming that the thermal conductivity of the powder coating is similar to the metal casing (i have no idea?), then it should help keep it cool...

Therefore, the key here is the bonding between the aluminium and the powder coat. Is there a thermal break (a bit like dry lining a room)...

Hope this helps...

Right back on track(ish), done bugger all on this except spend money and wait for bits!

However, it may get even slower, cos I was bored the other day and started perusing ebay, and obviously alzheimers is setting in and in a desperate bid to re-live my youth bought myself a 125lc project bike to go with the boxes of bits.....so do I start ripping it apart or concentrate on the KR? Anyway here it is 23 years old 1 careful owner and 13 not so careful

Image

So, do I do it white or can I get away with orange to match me 350 or will that look toss?

Even though I'm only halve way through this rebuild, & I have'nt starting spending on the engine yet. I've got about 3/4 + of a third 1s & I'm itching to be at it. I'm resisting with Flagellation. I also want one of these pace rads of Sean. He'll have to encrypt the invoice ( Not that I'm bothered who reads it you understand ).
