carb headache

Post by martin »

at long f_cking last. my carbs are now sorted  no more taking the friggin tank and airbox on and off, new pilots[size 40] new shutoff valves[no more fuel in the pipes] :D new mains, new jet needles, clip in the needle jet 2nd from top and air screws one and a quater out [it actually works and picks up without using the choke  even resealed the clutch cover, so no more oily engine, the only problem now is one of the calipers seems to weep and then stops[put new pistons and seals in] maybe it takes time for the seals to swell up and seal[hope so or strip caliper again, roll on the summer  i have also started to check my gear oil like rc46 said in his thread, he is right[dont totally trust the sight glass for checking the oil] i put exactly 850 in, and put the bike level . came home from work[and not showing what it should, ran the bike for a while whilst finishing the carb set up, had dinner and then re checked[and it was where it should be in the sight glass :? , drained the oil in a jug, and still exactly 850
current bikes
fully restored green/white kr1 b2

Brilliant, well done.
You must have been tearing your hair out.
