very VERY nice...now i know why you wanted me to do zxr400....

i think i'll go the same route when ive got the 400 front end sorted as its an easy swap(once you've done my bottom yolk..

)but how hard does it look to fit the wheel?will look reet tasty when its done...will it b done for the ace????
if it is i think you n martin will have to park up on your own for having the tidiest and the trickest bikes there..mine at the mo is doing a very good impresion of a couriers bike...winter use only...

Reckon I can sort the front wheel pretty easily, I'll use the same method I did for my 5 spoke wheel into 400h forks, which is 2 bushes shrunk onto the original spindle. It won't be done for the Ace (this year!) I want the calipers here soon so I can get that sorted but I'm pretty confident it might bolt up using various kwak parts, offsetts and stuff are looking promising, but need to get measuring.

I'm going to make some calls tomorrow, I'd like to get the szr arm in my green one for the Ace, but it may not happen in time. Micron gp pipes could well be on though

There must be some nice after market 636 mudguards available ?. How big a disks will you be able to fit. Love the look when the disks fill the wheel spokes Dont panic to sell any of your other forks cause I'm gonna be wanting some, & maybe nissin calipers, for the No 3 bike. but I need this shed built before I can do anything & the weather has it stopped. Its weird "Being a" & " watching a" grown man get all wet, over a pair of bl$$dy forks.

Yep, might run to a carbon mudguard eventually. Forks were spot on, must admit most parts I've had from the states have been very good.

Believe stand disc size on these is 280 mm, but you can fit bigger by using a spacer and bigger bolts (Cheers Martin) I understand that 636 discs don't have an offset, and measure 140mm across discs. Which is what all the kwak discs (I've got here) plus zxr wheel add up to

Now if the legs in the yokes are at the same centres, we may be in business, but all this is far to simple and probably wont work

280mm discs with 12.5mm (I think) offset from Kawaski, step forward KR1
Like I say this is all conjecture and guesswork at the minute but I'm hopeful.

You might have the same caliper/wheel spokes problem with the KR1 wheels like when fitting to a kr-1s, I seem to recall the Zx636 has very skinny spoked lightweight wheels.

Hopefully it shouldn't be a problem, as I'm going to use the zxr400 front wheel and it's a bit wider spacing across the discs etc, so I think the fork legs are spaced a bit wider.

Progress is pretty slow on this at the moment, too many things to do not enough time.

Decided on a colour scheme, yep 1s green and black, tank might just have kr1 on it so as not to upset the aficionados

even though it's got as many 1s bits in it as 1.

Radiator turned up couldn't resist seeing what it looked like, this ones definately getting a chopped about fairing on it, it's a bloody work of art, that and the black engine means uncovered, do I put nikkons on it (got) or splash out on stainless Lomas?

Now got a modded r6 shock in, airbox has been altered just need to finish it off.

Front spindle away being sorted, zxr400h spindle (larger ends than L) near as damn it fits into a 636 spindle end that the thread has been machine out of.

Unfortunately my calipers have been lost by either the USPS or the Royal Mail-not happy, so I've just bought another set, need to see if these will work as I planned with 280mm KR1 discs (prolite), hope so

Anyone got a good green c2 seat pod they want to sell? Can see me ending up getting a tank re sprayed.

Looking good Mark, I'v also got the R6 shock with a modded air box, when i had it on the rolling road it produced another 2bhp with the lid off, filter now held in place by wire mesh.

i did see an interesting post on the rgv250 forum, bout a chap who made a custom airbox to fit his RG gamma banshee project.

cant remember the specific page mind you, but the whole thing makes for very interesting reading

thought it might be usefull for those who want to gain back some of the volume lost from the R6 conversion.

Thanks for the comments fellas, I just wish I could get on with the bloody front end, do think it should be relatively easy when I've sussed it. Think I should even be able to get a few of the bits done and offer a few out for anyone who wants to try it. ZXR yokes machined and stem swap, working out at about £25-30 for the work.

Anyway, this is what I'm thinking for the fairing, and before anyone moans about hacking a std fairing up, you should see the condition of it, more weld than fairing.

Should fill and paint ok, might be a bit of work.
