Fitting 35mm Carbs!

Post by Steely »

When fitting 35mm carbs, what happens with the vacume pipe?

Do you still use it?, if not surely the fuel tap will not work.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

you'll need the kr1r tap or just block off the pipe to the tank and run it on prime should do the same job...but i dont know if the kr1r tap flows more....anyone?

the brass pipe inlets on the carbs are the same between the 28mm and 35mm. not sure wether the kr1r tap flows more but as the brass inlets are the same i cant see how. i think the diffrece is just down to 28mm been vaccum and kr1r been gravity. i dont even block the vaccum off on the tap, just run it on prime, not been a prob so far. just make sure the tank breather is 100% clear. do you know how the cable mod goes? in fact the cable is std, just the splitter box needs extending so that the slides lift fully otherwisethey only lift 2/3rds or so. someone said the choke cable splitter is the right length and a suitable candidate for the job in favour of the proper carb splitter. im buggerred if i can get the cable and splitter apart though (choke). you may have more luck but at least you can measure it in order to mod the std carb splitter box. the induction racket from 35mm carbs makes the kr sound even more like a r/cylinder tz. out of the proddy bikes, theres nothing comes near to a tuned kr on thin gauge spannys/35mm carbs getting its neck rung from 6k ish to wherever it revs!! makes the 35mm carbs worth it alone.
