I say go for it paint away! you can always paint it again at a later date, and its a lot cheaper to paint sound bodywork than get some old cracked stuff repair and then paint that.
You will also have the problem of storing the originals where they wont get damaged (I know if they were mine the misses would probably run over them in the car! or the kids would use them as a trampoline )
you could get the aftermarket stuff but then you are adding £150 odd quid to the cost and that doesn't include the tank or front mudguard!
I will say this however, it might be worth trying to remove all the stickers whole so that they could be used as a template in the future

well its finished and we fitted the body work today
the orange is the new ford focus st orange candy and the silver is actually overlayed with harlequin metal flake so really stands out once in the sun i dont think that the photos do the colours justice
