standard needle clip position

Post by martin »

i have looked on the kr1s manaul, but cant see what i want to know, i know the standard position for the needle clip on a kr1 [second from bottom]position 4. does anyone know what the standard clip position should be on a kr1s c3 with the 99e needles. also. i am thinking of getting rid of the slight clutch rattle and clutch drag i have on my kr1. am thinking of ordering a new clutch bearing and thrust washer, what do you guys think.

Clutch drag can also be cause by wear on the legs of the basket where the lugs from the plates sit. This can be easily cured though with half an hour with a smooth file. But the large washer is the prime suspect. Also check for wear on the operating arm.
