, might only be a tad weak from a slight air leak but its worth looking into if the new coil dosn't solve the problem. As standard the bike is set up on the rich side, so that its pretty safe requardless of air temp, pressure etc.the-elf wrote: cylinder to run a tad weak compared to the other.

deffo no air leaks on the reed blocks or carb rubbers, but still smokes more on left side, gonna take it out tomorrow and give it a good thrashing
not sure how to copy a link from wemoto website, but if you click on to ht coils, then scroll down, there is one, twin lead cdi coil[90mm hole spacing]22nd one down £29.38 [there is a picture] it fits exactly and to look at,is identical to the origanal

Is there a big difference between the amount of smoke?
The LHS is the most prone to failure (from my experience) as the crank case is thinner and allows more flex (RHS has gearbox behind it which stiffens it up). So if the LHS is OK then unless some gasket glue is missing the RHS case should be as well. Only real way to check it that I can think off is to get it on a dyno and check the Oxygen levels in each exhaust as its run up to speed.
Thanks for the tip on the coil I'll get one ordered when I next get paid. Mine is running with a couple of new HT leads siliconed in the end as the originals leads gave up ages ago on all four original coils that I have kicking about.

if the left is smoking more than right it maybe just were fuel/oil has sat in the cases as the bikes been parked, presumably on a sidestand? with the carbs perfect i cant see this happening but ive known this happen on strokers loads of times. nowt to really worry about, in fact its quite normal. id go for a 20 mile thrash and then check. i wouldnt be suprised to hear that there both burning evenly post ride.

They are a bargain at that price. Could someone add the details to the KRchieve section for future reference as the original Kwak one's are NLA.
