Do the KR1 and KR1-S have same frame(geometry)? I realise they are constructed slightly different i.e. spars are flat on KR1-S.
Looking at the figures in the two manuals:
_________________KR1------KR1-S_______
Wheelbase(mm).........1,365 = 1,365
Ride Height(mm)...........125 > 120
Seat Height(mm)...........750 < 755
Weight(Kg): Front...........70 < 77
..................Rear..............76 < 77
Frame:
Caster(rake angle).........24 = 24
.............Trail(mm)............93 > 90
Front: Tyre("17).......100/70 ~ 110/70
Susp Travel(mm)...........130 > 120
Rear: Tyre("18 ).......130/60 ~ 140/60
...Susp Travel(mm)........105 = 105
and without doing any trigonometry...
The rake angle is the same, so different trail, ride height etc. between models could be just different forks, swingarm and tyres, cant see any reference to fork length which would make it easier to know.
I want to build up a road bike and there is probably a KR1 frame local. My KR1-S was Q-plated last time so I dont want to use it. If the KR1 has a different swingarm pivot point then I would rather try and get a KR1-S frame.
Also searching through posts I think there may have been a mention about rigidity/flex being different.
My guess is that the KR1 frame has the same dimensions and I will have the same geometry if I use KR1-S forks and swinger.
