I have 2 sets of PWK 28's and the numbers stamped on the sides are
V607 EE3
V6O8 EE3
V454 CK03
V455 CK10
What does this mean and do i need to keep them as pairs ?
Because the CK ones have a gap in the numbers (03 to 10) are these still O.K.

From what i can gather is there
Factory batches....the carbs have to be pairs
of left and right..because as you know they sit inside
a cradle...so to speak..so you cant have two lefts..
etc...its for the tuning and tickover operation
if you have 35mm pwk they are mainly rights or lefts
not a pair...so you have a greater difficult time trying to
equal the tickover...where the 28 have there tickover
a long screw and an adjuster..opposite,
apart from early batches of kr1 and then kr1s... the jetting is slightly different.
Its the same with the barells the later ones are batched as pairs
with a numerical number stamped near the side bellows..
and early ones were not numbered.

you can perfectly use 2 lefts or 2 rights
to adjust the air mixture, you have to take off the carbs anyway, so it doesn't mather where the screws are.
leaves just the idle-adjuster. if you have 2 lefts, just direct the long adjuster to the right side off the frame.
appart from these 2, there is absolutly no reason why they wouldn't work if switched.
