numbers on barrels

Post by Charles »

Hi,

fitted some new barrels today. They are supposed to have been replated by BDK, but I bought them from a former forum member here approx 2 years ago.

What do these numbers on barrels mean? I've never seen any numbers on my other barrels. Is this normal BDK-practice?

thanks,
Charles

They are the numbers platers stamp on the barrels to keep track of them. Looks like both sets have been replated at least twice.

also looks like the bottom of the rhs barrel has been machined??? just looks a bit fresh comp to the next one. poss machined to get rid of the poor tolerances between one barrel to the next. id measure. if there both bang on then they prob have been matched. the ears have been flowed as have the transfers by the look of it although the latter looks minimal. measure the ex port/have a look for signs of work to the ports. at least your ready to roll once again.
