I have the same problem with the bike not starting. Personally, I've started to think that she's possessed by some kind of (evil) spirit, when she's in the mood (usually when it's p***ing down with rain outside), she will start first or second kick, when she's not in the mood (ie when it's sunny and warm, or when I try to leave, say, a petrol station after filling up the tank), there's nothing i could do to make her start.
Interesting comment about standard NGK plugs, since I've had them in and they worked absolutely fine for me, no problems at all.
I've been reluctant so far to use prime. Would that not just float it? Sorry for my ignorance, but am relatively new to the KR1 project.
About leaving the choke on, my bike seems to hate that. Also, when I just switch it on to start it, it seems more reluctant than when I just use the throttle, and if I manage to start her at all, she stalls after about five seconds unless I switch the choke off revving her up at the same time. Is that normal?
Just took her for a spin last weekend, and now the bike won't start again. The plugs are new, so can't fathom what is wrong again. The last time this happened there was a blocked hose in the fuel system, but have sorted this out since. Also, the oil pump disintegrated while I was out, causing vast amounts of oil being dumped over my back tyre, which very nearly killed me in a roundabout/an overtaking manoeuver. Never a dull day since I got this bike.
