Graham file engine

Post by kwackman12 »

Here's the dyno figures from the engine Graham File built for me, It has 59J single ring pistons, gas flowed crankcase, skimmed & balanced flywheel. rebuilt crank with new rods etc, modified stuffers & manifolds to take the 35mm Keihins, kit kip valves. Im running it on leaded petrol with Castrol 747 premix at 30/1
My road bike has the Stan Stevens 300cc conversion, according to the dyno figures for this one it put's out 62Bhp (different dyno) I would say the Graham File engine is the better one, it seem's to be a lot more poweful & revs a lot quicker.
The File tune cost me about £1400.00 (including looking through & cleaning 3 box's of engine bits, stripping 3 cranks & rebuilding 1) on top of this I supplied the pistons which were about £180.00, a crankshaft kit £165.00, Manifold rubbers £39.00,carburetor to airbox rubbers, kip valves, clutch star, kips linkage's & 35mm carbs (brought of Charles) Thought i'd give everyone on here an idea to the of cost to building a "race spec" engine, now "does any one want to buy one of my daughters!!"

Mmm...

You should try putting it on Jame's dyno Krazy-Katt to get a direct comparison with all the other two strokes. If you are racing at Cadwell and go up the A1 you will pass within about 2 miles of his place.

If i'm up that way & there open I will give it a go Mark, the dyno centre I went to was recommended by Graham, they had over 70 different kr1 dyno runs on file dating back to the 90's, the highest read 62.something, this had loads of mods & was also running 40% avgas 40% super unleaded & I think 20% tolune (not sure about this last one)be good to compare it against your readings to see how it measures up 8-[

Rider needs to move off the bike a bit more, this will allow the same corner speed with less lean angle....

Oh yes

That looks like the hairpin at Cadwell - easy to lose the front there....

Dunno if I could keep up with her, in fact, I highly doubt I could get even close. :(

Then again, if she makes a habit of doing that I just may stand a chance.
