are the kips ports made taller/wider?
If so, what are the recommended dimensions?

The rubber bung covers a case bolt. The cases are basicaly the same as the production RS 250, except for the o-ring base 'gasket'

Whilst in the UK RGV world an on-line mass debate rages about which GP rider is the anti-christ..................... Been making some progress down here.
Pretty much a standard cylinder/cases with TYGA pipes and aftermarket ignition. About 40 dyno runs later emerged an optimised ignition/pv curve. Crawled our way back to the 'cold case' figure. This dyno reads low (SAE 0.95 correction factor).
Not quite there but on the right track, next is some better cylinders, more comp, reed valves and case work.Wishlist would be a set of my pipes if I could get the bike for a while.

I know they wouldn't fit the bike, but you might be able to bodge something for a dyno run, might be worth trying a set of KR1S Lomas pipes on the RGV if you can borrow a set.
They work really well on a KR with a raised main exhaust port (about the same height as a stock RGV port and provide masses of mid range 8 to 10k.
As Bore and stroke are the same and as mentioned I think RGV exhaust port height is about right - they might go a long way towards filling the midrange hole (Canyon).

We have the 8-9200 hole sussed, all the KR charts have peak @ 10,500 this has peak @11,500, shift this curve 1000 rpm to the left and the difference isn't great. This engine has a CR box(flatshifter too) and the rpm drop in the top 4 gears is to 10,000 from the 11,500 shift point.

It has gone very quiet.
The RGV I am working on is well behind schedule. Hope to have it running over Easter.

Concentrating on next evo of the KR which has some radical changes - we will see if they work.

Not in this part of the world. Will have the new Zeeltronic to install and run. Will have similar bits to the graph above so we are expecting to at least match that.

how is your rgv coming on mark? also what about the latest kr? trackday yesterday for me at cadwell, lapped inside my personal best despite losing 6th gear!! also bike ran very well destroying a majority of mid 90's 750's along the straight. bike ran avgas 50 50 with 160 mains in a homemade airbox. seems to run better on avgas even though ive used v power in the past. need to get the fuelling sorted when getting on the throttle exiting corners. new needles are next. wondering if the std gear linkage been turned around for 1 up 5 down is the problem? or poss the selector forks? need looking at.

Yeah that's the spec of the RS250 Aprilia(basicaly RGV) with just bolt-on bits. Was about 35 runs and 2 hours work to get us back to the cold case figure. Running pump 98 ULP fuel too. I think my signature is 'crochet & croquet'
