Has anyone ever cut open a stock head...

I am making head inserts for the stock KR head but after many hours of contemplation I am stuck since I don't know what lies beneath. I either have to make an insert (best guess) and machine the head and hope it fits or cut one up to get measurements. Surely someone has cut one apart for similar diabolical reasons. If so can you post pics or drawing with measurements please? [-o<

Jim I cut one in half and there isn't that much to it. The water exits are 2mm alround less that the size of the passage to the thermostat.
Making the insert is no big deal.I have seen many and varied designs of the backside of the insert and the coolant passages.
Just give yourself a nice firm flat for the back of the outer edge and for the around the plug o ring to seal onto.
