Engine using gearbox oil

Hi there, can somebody advise me on the KR-1S problem I have. The bike is smoking on one side and I believe/told that a leaking crankcase seal is causing the problem.

Is this a common problem and is it an easy fix

Not a common problem, but it does happen.
The crank will have to be stripped. Seal and bearing kits are a reasonable price.
