Squish
I am building a new motor for the track at the moment and have been match porting a few things and now I am looking at the head
. How much can be taken off the head safely. I dont want a time bomb but a few more HP is always nice

JUST GOT the inserts (VHM) in the mail
making use of abandoned heads I have bought with old parts
two recesses (steps/benches) will be created as the old chambers are machined out of the head - One at the sparkplug seal the other at the head-barrel surface.
Both steps will each serve to locate the insert and clamp it down.
The head gasket will still be retained (at this stage) as I'm not intending on o-ringing around the KIPs valves.

there's no need to O-ring the Kips valves. I'm running an O-ringed head for more then 10 years now and never had problems with itKR-1R wrote:.

look at the picture and you'll notice the black stuff arround the KIPS has gone nowhere further
If you read that hole topic, you'll know what happened and that it had nothing to do with the O-rings or the lack off them arround the KIPS
