Oh my God!!!I've just taken it for its first blast.
It is a bit of a handful,it pulls like a train and keeps pulling, the upside down gearshift will take some getting used to(nearly head butted the top yoke twice on the up shift and it went down )
I think i have created Frankensteins monster
Casualty is imminent,start the ambulance!!
Brilliant, that's exactly how it should be
It would have been very disappointing if you had reported back that it was a docile well mannered thing.
Well done for having the balls to do it =D> =D>
Daz Have you thought about a set of risers and renthals A bit more work for you but I think it would make it easier to ride and improve the chances of serious back wheel action
love it mate.

I have gone this way with my naked and it makes it fun to ride in twisties etc, but I have noticed that having bars and risers (with kr1 engine) amplifies the vibes that you feel on the right hand. It never used to bother me with clip ons but 20 minutes with the bars, and my fingers ar numb. Also has made the bike a wheely monster of the line in first, and second, so it could make the 500 too much of a handfull, as theres no weight over the front end to keep it down.
Symtec23 is right, putting renthals on would move weight backwards making it very user un-friendly.I do prefer the clip-on riding position for taming the beast.
To be honest with the gearing i've got (15/38 sprockets),wheelies won't be too much of problem,it's the tallest gearing i could put on with the CR500 low ratio gearbox,it just pulls from idle like nothing else.
It reminded me very much of my old RG500 but with a little bit more torque, that's the closest description i could give of what it's like.
The Freddie Spencer replica will be my next priority,it will be back from the welders next month which gives me 5 months to get it ready for the TT =D>
