running troubles
Hi All nearly happy new year, right got the beast fired up the other day but will not run off choke, does for a while but when i go to rev it just dies, they are tuned barrels but to what stage i don't know, ive even tried a set of pwk 28's made by oko quality went out the window there, but thought it was worth a try but did exactly the same, haven't checked reeds but i also have in place the plasic block thing on the intake manifold will i need to take this out as they are tuned barrels or what does it do, so any ideas will be welcome i'm off to check reeds and make sure the kips f1 or 2 or 3 or is it 4 valves are set right but i'm sure they are cheers wayne.

Hi Wayne,
Strip and clean the carbs, take out the main jets and the housing as silt accumulates.
If it was running with them previously it will only be something minor.
Do you have an ultrasonic tank? As it is so much easier with one.
I am looking for one in the sales now as mine died.
Cheers
Bernie

Re: running troubles
Just noticed this question.
You'll have to mess about with the carb setup a bit, like you say, the air screw settings.
I would be interested to know what your main and pilot jet sizes are and also what might be a silly question, but do you have the airbox fitted?
A few of us spent some time trying to troubleshoot a similar problem for someone on here once and it turned out he had no airbox fitted.
No leave them in, it directs the airflow through the reeds and into the crankcase.tescr500 wrote:i also have in place the plasic block thing on the intake manifold will i need to take this out as they are tuned barrels or what does it do
