generally a 1.3 mozzle should do most things the smaller the nozzle the finer the spray. I have been using a a smart repair gun 0.8 for tanks etc as it takes a takes loads less cleaning out and very fine spray so it looks fine without cutting anything up.
They used to reckon a 6 inch fan at 6 inches away was a good starting point, i think that was devilbis? but just experiment a little depending on what paint your using etc and dont set the gun to wide open it will put far too much on. You can fine tune the fan using the air pressure. Just do light coats so you dont get loads of orange peel that needs cutting back 2 pk is very forgiving and will hide a multitude of sins compared with cellulose. You cant really go wrong on solid colours its metallics that will come out cloudy.

Its also worth remembering new paints are water based so the internals are different on guns so they dont rust. I think the non water stuff was far better personally.

No idea if that will help anyone or not i havent been a sprayer for about 25 years so im a bit rusty and a lot has probably changed but it might
I wish i knew something about KR's so i was like knowledgeable about them and everything like what you lot are ;-) :-) :-)

This is a very useful thread if you ask me, as I'm about to do my body work this winter 8-[ finally [-o<
I have to say Wayne, if I get anything like as good a finish as you, I will be right made up :D

All ready for next spring, with my nice shiney new tyres too \:D/
And some re-zinc plated nuts & bolts, new pads front & rear, I might even go mad & buy a new screen!

Once again, top work Wayne & full marks on the write up.

That's looking good Wayne, good job. I had a look and listen to it running in the video too.

I can't wait to start making some progress with mine, the bodywork prep is rather time consuming and laborious.

cheers luder, look forward to seeing your progress, yeah body work takes a time, the repairs i done on one of my ears on the fairing, i broke it went to grab a rag of the tank and wasn't looking and ploughed my hand straight through it d..k h..d i am, but on the plus side it did bend along way before it broke so another repair then a quick blow with paint should be fine cheers.
