Modified Kr-1s Freshen up

Well, it's too cold to ride it so I have decided to freshen up my modified Kr-1s. This is my road bike, but the modifications are with a view to taking it on the track sometime.
This is how it currently looks-

I am hoping to lose some weight from it but unfortunately it gained several kilos almost immediately.....

The plans are- To fit the single seat unit (seen hanging up behind the bike)
To fit these-

Upgrade the radiator with this Tedium one-

I already have an R6 shock fitted but the spring is a little soft- this Fazer spring will be swapped over.

I also need to relocate the battery (I'll probably get a Li Po one).
It also needs a damn good clean :oops:
Inspired by John B I'm going to have a go at painting the fairings (don't worry, they aren't genuine ones!)
How much of this will get done I have no idea, wish me luck!

Looks alot more of a meaty bike with that front/rear end, what colour you
painting it,
Wouldn't happen to have a very good 1s-c3 colour top fairing hanging up there.

What is it with cats? Mine does the same & 'kitty' (yeah I know) looks a damn site heavier than Bikemike cat.

There has to be an exhaust joke in here somewhere :-k

looking good mike is that the same one? if so you must of had it 6 or 7 years now :shock:
I still like that swing arm it just finishes it off 8)

Dont worry about the paint you can do it :D
I wish i knew something about KR's so i was like knowledgeable about them and everything like what you lot are ;-) :-) :-)

Well, sort of. The frame, swingarm and rear plastics are all that remain of the bike you sold me.
It now has different engine, Forks, wheels, brakes and fairing. I have still got all the original bits though.

It is a braced standard Kr-1s swingarm. I'm not sure it is much stiffer than standard, but I agree with John- it looks great!

Well, I've now stripped out the shock so I can get the spring swapped over.
A frankly rubbish shot of the shock in situ-

But you should be able to see the amount of airbox that needs to be removed to make it fit.

Having taken out the R6 shock I can see it is different to the other one I have.

I have seen several other R6 shocks, but they all look the same as the one with the red spring. The red spring one is definitely from an 07 R6, might the gold spring one be from a later R6? (don't be misled by the gold spring, it has been powdercoated).

It looks a little less bulky at the top so wouldn't need so much cutting of the airbox.
Any Yam R6 experts on here?

It may just be an optical illusion, but the shock with the gold spring looks shorter in the pics.
Have you measured it up and compaired it to the other one?
