newbie needing advice

Post by streetfighter »

Hi there guys, i'm new to the forum, just recently pick up a Kr1s, and busy getting it sorted.Need some advice on something.....bike had been standing for a while, cleaned carbs and sync'd them.Bike started pretty easily, although at tick-over, opening the throttle feels fluffy.Once i give choke it comes on strong and responsive.I have noticed that there is no airfilter in the box.Airscrews are 1,5. Needles are centre clip. Standard jetting I think.Could no airfilter be giving me grief.Thanx guys.

Hi there and welcome!

Yeah i would have thought the lack of airfilter is causng your bike to be lean on part throttle hence why it runs better on choke when its richened up.

Stick an air filter in and see how she runs then.

Hi and welcome.

airfilter won't make that much of a difference, allthough all little bits help.

My experience is that the airscrews need to be turned out ver little. I always start at only half a turn out (on the Keihin PWK's, the airscrew regulates only air, so turning it in means less air )
