picked the frame and swing arm up from the painters this morning.
it looks alot better in the flesh.
think in the future,i will have all frames two packed
Image
attention to detail is the key. even small bits and bobs get the two pack
treatment.
powdercoat bits next, then off to the electroplaters.

Looking like another top build there Martin !

... You have confirmed something for me - ages ago I raised a question whether to powdercoat or paint the frame..?

I've done both options with the AR's I've built and they both come out well in gloss black - if anything the powdercoat can be a little 'gloopy and thick ' but on the other hand this also covers minor imperfections :-)

So I've been undecided - but looking at your frame above on the KR - that two pack looks an excellent finish !!

Next time it's paint for me too :D
If it takes more than 2strokes then your just playing at it..

Totally agree.

After seeing Teerex's frame & swing arm, I'm converted. His painter did a fantastic job.

Have to admit though, I still think powder coat looks better on steel tubular frames.

i have been busy.

forks will be rebuilt and tyres fitted this week.
then, as soon as the shock comes back, it will be a rolling chassis.
[i am aiming to get the kr1s finished in two months  ]

all the bolts and nuts are replated [try and rub and polish the heads of
the bolts as they do come out with a better finish]
the rear disc is a copy [it does look very very close to standard]
got it from all bike engineering [in greenwich] £75 posted
[when i bought this, they only had 2 left]
