I have the head off a 91' KR1-S atm changing the gasket and valve seals and i wanted to setup the powervalves properly. I've searched these forums for an answer and found this:
I also found the tut on team sparrows brilliant tuning pages here but i just wanted to make sure i was clear on the best position for the valves when open.To set the power valves up drop the exhaust, switch on and once the Powervalves are open switch off the ignition and using a torch adjust the cable so that they aline correctly with the port when open (the closed position is alot less important).
If I set the outermost inner edge of the valve to create a smooth flow against the side of the port, is this correct? I've provided a thumbnail to show what I mean. Click to expand
Should i set each valve up the same (obviously mirroring the opposite side) or should there be a "step" either way directing the gases. In the past I have set them up before like this and got the two outside valves almost perfect without having to adjust the linkages, but this time I'm investing in some new ones off James from BDK as the old ones are seized and then adjust them cock on.
Also before i commit to buy, the linkage repair kit looks sneakily similar to the linkages you get on RC cars servos, anybody have any luck with them as servos linkages are a lot cheaper.
