Hi, i am new to messing with engines. My kr1 blows oil from one exhaust when it is first started, quite a lot just. I have not long purchased the bike. The seller informed me it had had a engine rebuild, crank the lot. Why does it piss out black oil like that???? Can anyone help me? Spencer

could be a number of things, take the plugs out and check there both similar in appearence/colour etc,if in doubt fit some new ones.If its a kr1 with the original all in one pipe/silencer then they can get clogged up with unburnt oil and the baffle packing becomes saturated so it smokes alot, remove the end plates on the pipes and pull the packing out/replace with new.Could be unburnt oil in the exhaust expansion section,so take the pipe off and pour a bit of petrol/solvent down it and flush it out.it may be due to the powervalves being set up wrong causing that side to run weird and overfuel, check they work as they should (theres a thread on here with pics i think if you do a search).also its worth removing the carbs and checking they have the same jets/settings as each other and the float heights the same.
Be a worthwhile investement to get a workshop manual.
