ime going to have a look now,it goes in first fine and positive ,doesnt like going into second but once engaged goes through the gears fine :?: i ts like the shift mechanism has`nt got enough movement up into second,strip down tommoz

try turning the trust washer around

if it does it only in one gear, my guess is a bent/worn shift fork :wink:

I had a problem with the return spring that is in the cover (left hand side of engine) behind the gear change lever,might be worth checking this area first as its only a 10mins job.

sorted , the rivet in peg on the rose joint had come loose and the arm was hitting the frame #-o welded up now ,

selector forls. i have had it were a duff output shaft bearing caused similar problems. id swap the forks first though, its only an hour job. the bearing im refering to requires splitting the cases.
