Thanks Fred, that would be good for servo and clock bracket. May I have that in a couple of months when I'm a bit further down the line with the build?

Standard front spindle weight = 480g
Standard rear spindle weight = 581g
Standard swingarm pivot bolt= 714g

Not uploaded any pictures for a while, but I've been messing about with the fairing and have a rolling chassis together now.

Ben to save weight use an RGV swinging arm spindle and the RGV rear spindle. Though you will need to modify the rear spacers and fit different bearings as the rear is 20mm hollow, KR is 17mm solid

I was just going to have it drilled to cut the weight down. Will that do the job?

One other thing I wanted to ask, did you have to modify the rear brake hanger to fit? Seems too large, but I've only briefly looked.

I'm sure I have an RGV swinging arm pivot bolt you can have - might have a rear wheel spindle as well - but its too cold to go out and check right now. PM your details and I will stick it in the post - one of those things you don't really need two of

Ben,

Was routing through some 3ma bits earlier and noticed that both front and rear spindle on them is hollow too lol.

I'll measure and weigh them for you as soon as I get chance.

Bike is looking good.

well, it will save weight, but you'll loose strength :-k

better go for a hollow with a bigger diameter.
My ultimate goal is to die young as late as possible !

Still making steady progress, but waiting for some bits to arrive which should help the project along.

I have fitted an engine and 1 OEM exhaust to ensure I have the correct clearance for the belly pan.

The exhausts I'm having made, must conform to OEM size and shape standards where possible. I love my stainless JL's, but they are a little on the fat side and there is the issue of the chain fouling when running the 17" rear wheel.

Incidentally, as I don't think I mentioned this on the thread, I've gone for Dymags, instead of the RGV VJ22 rear.

Front wheel has 280mm KR-1 discs to save weight and cut down on the gyro effect you get from running larger KR-1S discs at 300mm, or the ZXR400L discs at 310mm.

I have photographed it here for you to see and included in the shot the tank.

As you can see, I've cut out the original fuel filler, fibre glassed it from the inside and used body filler on the outside to make the surface smooth.
Next step is to paint and polish, so there is a good finish to take a mould from.

In place of the large central fuel filler, I will be using a TZ style lightweight plastic screw cap, not a far cry away from a lawn mower. Simple but effective :)

I haven't yet and am open to suggestions.

I do still like the black and white Ant West MotoGP bike Kawasaki made.

If anyone sees anything they think would look good, or they would like to see, please post a pic up here.
