My bike's been getting louder recently, there's a couple of rust holes in the bottom bit of the rear exhaust. I bodged a repair (smeared some Chemical Metal on) to get it through a trackday noise test and the last MOT but it's time to fix it properly now.
Not easy to extricate it though is it ? Sidepanels, seat and tank off, then unbolt the subframe. Disconnect the metal pipe that feeds brake fluid down to the rear brake cylinder. Unbolt the exhaust and you can just wriggle it out if you hold the subframe up and back as far as you can. Careful not to stretch the wiring loom or pull the HT leads out of the plug caps (as I did ).

My mate who welded up the rusty pipe said it was like working on a 1970's Lancia ! It's done, painted and refitted with a new exhaust gasket. I could have smoothed the welds to hide them but my bike is honest and wears its history with pride.
Fired up, back to the normal crackle with no leaks. But it also blew some coolant out. Think it might have done a head gasket.
Tim I'm sure you have a spare head gasket if not what is the world coming to have one if you need it. Gonna buy another set just in case pm me if u need it.

Which part do you need Fuad ? The mirrors are standard KR250A parts from Kawasaki. Not sure they're still available new though. But the mountings should accept almost any Kawasaki or aftermarket mirrors that are roughly the right shape. Avoid Yamaha parts though - they have different threads.
My KR passed it's MOT yesterday by the way, it's a lot quieter than it was. I went for a short ride on it afterwards and no further coolant leaks yet. Will keep an eye on it though.
