I need to focus on getting the bodywork sorted and painted, so when I get back from Belfast I will be sorting out some bits to sell (standard pipes with end cans in good condition, uncut rear mudguard, undertray, carb bits including 29.5mm carb bodies, etc).

Just got a bit of bad news today, my painter won't be able to do my bike.

Does anyone know of a painter they would recommend?

Cheers
Bernie :)

How much are you looking to spend? Paint is such a subjective area and prices (and results) vary a lot.

A mate of mine (ex Aston Martin painter) offerred to paint my KR1 when I am ready but we were looking at £1000 for mate's rates! All of his work is concours.

Equally, I have been in touch with a few guys who advertise on ebay and been quoted between £200 (2 colours and me applying decals and top coat) and circa £750 by Cordwells inc repairs

The quote I had was £600 including repairs, and he did a good job on Pablo's bike.
Still looking :(

Paint isn't cheap chief, the lacquers aren't either, especially if your after good clear lacquer with no grain in it. My old chum sent his fz parts to dream machine for 700 bucks, they were pretty good, but no better as what we would do at my work! In fact I thought his clear coat was a little too textured for my liking!!!ha!

Hi Bernie,

I can recommend Cordwells. Proper finish the correct colour, good quality decals and painted inside and out.

hello Bernie, remember our conversation we had, about paint prices, it's crazy prices, but remember you get what you pay for. Does it say what it does on the tin  . If you buy Asda cheepy you get mushy white peas, if you buy green giant you get green perfect peas get it  . Well i hope you get a good job for a good price, someone who takes a bit of pride in his work. Cheers Wayne.

Been a while......
I have been selling bits to fund the paint job, but just catching up with a couple of outstanding bits.
Front and rear master cylinders needed a refurb.
