than there was a short 15min sprint race. We decided to swap pilot's halfway anyway, just to have tried it out before the endurance, and we finished 11th on 40, not bad for first-timers, especialy for me as it was about 25 years ago since I had done off-roading

in the endurance race 1h45min, we ended 7th, 3 laps down on the winners, and 3 laps before the team behind us, so we were very delighted with the result
and know we have a lot of experience on how to improve the moped for the next time

there were 120 teams : 40 rookies, 40 pro's, and 40 "master's of moped wars". To run in the masters , you had to be dressed up (with funny cloths), and your moped had to have an original look (appart from the engine, only "tuning" allowed is to streghten the handlebars/footrests and weld a strengthening bar for the frame between headstock and rear frame. The masters also had a parade session in which about anything was allowed and they could show everything or nothing - depending on how you look at it . some images :

the Walaroo with green wheels and white/black blocks on his back that goes into the first corner just before me, was the winner of the pro's.

1st and second part look for the mudjahedin-warrior on his black Sky, and especialy the speed at which he catches the ones in front of him and leaves them for dead behind. also how he flies over the "washboard" (????) and this one was actualy very poor for him, normaly they just fly over them like they want to, or jump on their rear wheel from bump to bump, or ...
from 1min22 you'll see the winner. from 1min34 look out for the second guy in front of him (with the red T-shirt) The red one is much faster than me, and from the moment you'll see him, you'll realise how far in front he was, and how fast he is catched. on 2min28 you'll see him make the double jump, he was the only one to do that.

another fact : amasing how many h***a SKy's were there, and the 3 fastest teams all rode standard Sky's. and their riding technic was trully awsome. From almost all the other mopeds you could here them jumping when their suspension bottomed out, but those 3 didn't ever ! I'm sure that if you welded their suspensions, they would go almost as fast

h***a probably had a 75-80% share on all the mopeds, about 50/50 between sky's and wallaroo's, some camino's and an occasional Scoopy.

next WE another race, mopeds are ready

first one with a new engine. only from start to 10km/h slightly slower than a very good standard Sky, up to 35km/h evenly matched, but above much stronger and a top of 70km/h. Showa upside-down from a Derby 50 and "orange flashlight" for fun



made another one for my son and his friend, scored a Aprillia 280 trial fork for 35 euro, had to make yokes myself

begun on a new engine for this year. basicly what I started on the first page , but didn't have a TIG at that time, and welding the 3rd-rated aluminium of the engine was too dificult with a semi-automatic.

biggest problem with the engine : the intake is too small. on the background the new intake I milled :

to be able to make a bigger intake, I need more material, so welded a 10mm alu plate on top of the crankcase. To compensate for this, I'm gonna use a 8mm longer rod from a MTX80 and than mill the plate back down to get the timing spot on :
