even if the lower mount isnt cracked, shim it if theres any slop using an old washer, the type used to shim the gearbox/clutch. a properly shimed motor/frame is what prevents stress fracture around the lower mount.

Bernie managed to get hold of some counter sunk screws used to attach the pullies to the power valves. It' might be worth asking him about that too.

Payments sent to four forum member for parts, upon receipt the rebuild will begin. Thanks for all the offers of parts
Here is the latest, just picked up a zxr250 set of forks and trees, r1 master cylinder and two piss poor front callipers for approx 100.
Here is a dry run, will use standard calipers for now. Will probably need a zxr250 axel and a bearing change

The standard forks poke through the top yoke 16mm, but those ZXR forks are about 20mm longer than the standard. If you can, get your tape measure out and check with your old forks.
With this in mind, I would allow at least 36mm of fork to come up through the top yoke when you put it back together. If you start there and increase depending on how quick you like your bike to turn in.

That's what the standard ZXR250 calipers look like, as well as being the same as the ones fitted to the KR1 from factory.

3 Boxes picked up and in the boot of my car, will be after the weekend before I get to start the rebuild...yeah...
Co-owner is in process of rebuilding the forks(zxr250) and making up spacers to use the kr1 front wheel.

Parts all arrived and look great! Very Happy thanks lads, going to start the rebuild this weekend. Still not sure what to do with crank? Does anyone have a good useable one they will sell?
Looking forwword to getting the front end on.

Good luck, building one from a heap is very rewarding. Be nice to have another KR doing a bit of racing in the country
lol only in ireland would sumone be running a brake setup like that! Im surprised they wernt cable tied on lol

That sounds like Scooble's bike if you mean Aprilia RS.
